Welder/Fabricator
Smith Welding and Fabrication Inc. is looking for experienced welders to join our shop fabrication team. We are looking for eager candidates that meet the following requirements/skill sets:
- FCAW welding experience.
- GMAW welding experience.
- Able to pass a weld test.
- Able to operate a forklift and overhead crane.
- Possess knowledge of tools such as tape measure, torch, and grinder.
- Possess basic welding safety knowledge.
- Prefer candidates that are able to read blueprints.
- Able to pass a drug test.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.

Steel Detailer
Smith Welding and Fabrication Inc. specializes in steel fabrication of commercial and industrial buildings. We are an AISC certified steel fabricator that is currently looking for a steel detailer to join our team. We use AutoCad and Advance Steel. We are looking for talented, enthusiastic, and experienced individual.
Your workday might look like this:
- Review structural and architectural drawings and specifications for conflicts/questions.
- Structural steel detailing -- columns, beams
- Miscellaneous steel detailing -- stairs, ladders, and railings
- Work with Project Management to create RFIs.
- Checking contract documents, RFI's, specifications, etc. to ensure drawings are accurate
- Use AutoCAD/Advance Steel to create shop drawings and erection plans.
- Adhere to applicable building codes and company design standards.
- Assist fabricators with questions, as necessary.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
- Field measuring on-site may require being on ladder or lift. Necessary safety equipment and training is provided.
Job Requirements:
- Experience with Misc. and structural steel detailing using AutoCAD/Advance Steel
- Ability to read blueprints, welding symbols, etc.
- Highly organized and committed to producing accurate and complete work
- Friendly personality and willing to work as part of a team
- 5+ years of active detailing experience
